Website informs Polish workers of rights

British trade union confederation TUC has launched a new website to provide Polish workers with information about issues including the minimum wage, working time, holiday entitlement, sick pay, housing and health. The website has been created in collaboration with Citizens Advice and Polish union Solidarnosc.
Over 200,000 Polish workers live in the UK. According to TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber, “some rogue employers are taking advantage of this new, vulnerable workforce, and exploiting their lack of understanding of British working culture and problems with language”.
The TUC has also set up a Commission on Vulnerable Employment to investigate workplace exploitation in the UK.
