No books for busters

Recently, a union-busting firm from Syracuse tried to order the Contract Campaign Manual from Union Communication Services (UCS). UCS checked with the local labour council, to find out that ‘these were not the kinds of people we share information with’. They rejected the order.
The Contract Campaign Manual has been developed by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and has been described as ‘an exciting, absolutely must-have resource for unionists facing a fight for a first contract or the renewal of an existing agreement’.
UCS has now taken measures to prevent such strategic information falling into the wrong hands. “Purchase of this material is limited to unionists. Orders from customers with whom we do not already have a relationship must be accompanied by a mailed, faxed or PDF business card or union letterhead to establish union credentials”, the website states.
