Berlinale: between glamour and precarity

Amongst the glamour of the Berlinale Festival, activists organised their own Gala of the Precarious Perspectives last Saturday. They celebrated the stars who remain unseen during the ten day festival: catering staff, cleaners, ticket sellers, and technicians who work for 6 euro per hour or less. One of the awards was presented to the works council of the Cinemaxx chain. Through a short but intense strike, it has won a collective agreement, which is considered exceptional in the sector.
