Free training for Polish workers

The British federation TUC is going to provide free training courses on rights at work to Polish workers in cleaning, security and building services in London. Through this service, the TUC also hopes to hear about the problems these immigrants encounter at work, so as to be able to make recommendations to the Government to deal with these problems.
“Unions are keen to help migrant workers stop employers from using a poor grasp of English or ignorance of UK employment laws as an excuse to treat people badly, and these free TUC training courses will help Polish workers in London become more aware of their rights at work”, Regional Secretary Megan Dobney said.
The courses will be provided by the Vulnerable Workers Project based in London’s business district Canary Wharf. The project is led by the TUC and funded by the British government.
