Young trade unionists to meet at European Social Forum

At the initiative of the youth wing of the German DGB federation, young trade unionists are preparing to meet at the European Social Forum (ESF) in Malmö, Sweden, next September. From 29 May to 1 June, a preparatory meeting will be held in Hustedt, Germany.
Their objective is to take a critical look at neoliberal globalisation and to strengthen European collaboration with trade unions and other organisations.
At the ESF, young trade unionists will be organising workshops on global organising; flexicurity; education; labour law and migration; the EU's geopolitical strategy; and media. Participants will include representatives of Fellesforbundet (Norway); SACO and LO (Sweden); SAK and AKAVA (Finland); CCOO (Spain); CFDT (France); ÖGJ, GPA and VIDA (Austria); ZSSS (Slovenia); Podkrepa (Bulgary); DGB Jugend, IG-Metall Jugend, Ver.di Jugend and GEW (Germany).
Young trade unionists are welcome to participate both in the preparatory meeting and in the activities at the ESF. For more information contact Daniela Linke or visit this website.
