IG Metall Youth campaign for steady jobs


The youth wing of German union IG Metall is waging a nationwide campaign to demand steady jobs for youth who finish their apprenticeships, who now risk becoming unemployed.
Others support the campaign, such as the chairman of the works council at the Daimler factory: “Short-term cost-cutting measures inspired by the crisis should not make us put the future on the line. Not the future of young people, for whom we have taken responsibility. Nor the future of the enterprise. One thing is clear: we will not let our apprentices down”.
