The TUC 60 Second Ad contest is back…..

Your challenge is to make an ad for the TUC that encourages people to join a trade union. In the current climate, people need trade unions more than ever before and this is your chance to show people why.
We want you to make an ad that entertains, one that you’re proud to share, one that people want to forward on to social networking sites like facebook.
You can be as mainstream or as quirky as you like. We are not looking for the next Steven Speilberg blockbuster, just a great idea well presented.

So what are you waiting for?
Now’s the time to get cracking and come up with that great idea, so, check out the brief, listen to the experts, and find out how to get involved. Log on to www.tuc60seconds.org.uk for all you need to know, as well as details about the workshops we will be running to help get you started.

Win Fantastic Prizes
Win a fabulous £1000 cash prize plus a day on a film set, as well as tickets to the Premiere of ‘Made in Dagenham’ (in cinemas from October 1st) starring Sally Hawkins, Bob Hoskins, Miranda Richardson and Rosamund Pike. There will be the added bonus of watching your winning ad at a special screening of the film. There are some great prizes for the runners up too.
And please don’t worry, if needed, we’ll work with you to bring your ad up to broadcast quality.
The ad will also be seen by thousands of people across the world… including showings at the Geneva Labour film festival and the Washington DC Labour film festival.

Advertising Workshop
To support people to take part in the TUC 60 Second Ad contest we are running a FREE workshop (open to everyone) and we have places for forty people. The workshop will be lead by leading experts Miriam Sorrentino (Lecturer, advertising and branding, Greenwich University) and Jon Daniel (Creative Director, Ebb & Flow), we’ll also hear from media and entertainment union BECTU. We have places for forty people so people need to book early to avoid disappointment…..
The workshop will cover the following areas:
• Constructing an ad
• Finding an idea that works
• Creating a film
• Getting your film ready for presentation
