The rise of the progressive rich

Left-wing billionaire George Soros is no longer an exception: more and more rich Americans support the progressive cause, argues David Callahan in The American Prospect.
Among the rich, there is increasing support for issues like abortion, gender equality and gay rights. Their track record on economic issues is less convincing, but Callahan suggests changing this is ‘doable’. Rich liberals could be convinced to invest in education, build wealth in low-income communities, and create ‘green-collar’ jobs. Still, he thinks that many of the progressive rich ‘don’t care much for unions’.
