Cleaners’ campaign wins international award

At the congress of Uni the Global Union in Nagasaki, Dutch cleaners have received the international award for best union campaign, which is presented every five years. Earlier this year, cleaners waged a prolonged but successful campaign for respect and decent wages.
“The international award is very encouraging. Not just for us, the cleaners, but also for our co-workers in sectors like security, catering, home care and nursing homes. If you want to, you can win!”, Christine Monk, a cleaner at the Erasmus Medical Centre, said.
