Cleaners protest in Amsterdam

Yesterday afternoon, 2,500 cleaners marched through Amsterdam Zuid. They were cheered by residents of the Rijnstraat and the Vrijheidslaan. The protest march ended at the Philips Headquarters. According to the cleaners’ union, Philips exemplifies clients who cut their cleaning budgets, which results in increasing workloads for cleaners. On 1 January, negotiations for a new collective agreement broke down.
