Agency workers: ‘What do you want, people or cattle’

Over sixty agency workers who work for the Dutch retail chain Albert Heijn went to work agency Otto last week. Background:
The Otto agency workers at the AH distribution centres do the same work as permanent workers, but they way they are treated is far from equal. For example, Otto forces its agency workers, who live in trailer parks, to sign a contract allowing Otto guards to enter their home at will. “We’re not cattle in a cowshed; we’re people and we deserve respect”, distribution worker and agency worker Yakub Kaczmarczyk said. “Therefore we’re going to Otto and ask them: ‘What do you want, people or cattle?’” (source)
The action was successful: the regulations have been changed.
